Trichotomy takes its genre busting sound to new heights in an evening of wonderfully unpredictable, absorbing and distinctive music. The trio’s engaging improvisatory interplay will be perfectly matched by the textural depth and rich harmony of 11 QSO musicians, underscored by the intensely rhythmic sound that Trichotomy has made its own.
Reminiscent of sounds from Steve Reich, Pat Metheny and John Zorn, this concert will feature new Trichotomy material plus inventive re-workings of a range of work from previous albums.
This is the acclaimed Brisbane based contemporary music trio’s debut performance with QSO musicians.
As The Edge is a licensed venue, children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Book now for this once in a lifetime gig! Brisbane’s most loved Jazz Trio Trichotomy will be supporting Chris Jarrett and Luca Ciarla in concert at the Old Museum in Brisbane on Saturday 28 Feb 08:00 pm.
Internationally acclaimed composer and pianist Chris Jarrett meets up with worldwide busy improviser and magician of the violin Luca Ciarla for a unique duo along the borders of contemporary music and jazz. Luca Ciarla’s spritelike playing and the quick-fingered expressivity of Chris Jarrett’s improvisations met, hugged, collided; sometimes following parallel paths and other times going in different directions only to meet at the common goal. A fascinating blend of the accessible and the challenging with a magnetic musical appeal. “A concert event experienced by an enthusiastic audience who had a chance to admire the versatile Chris Jarrett and the original and surprising Luca Ciarla in an atmosphere opulent with musical colors…an exclusive event that will stay alive in the historical musical memory of Naples.” La Gazzetta dello Spettacolo (Italy)
